Twenty-nine scholarships, totaling $25,000, were awarded by the Mandan Dollars for Scholars, at the annual Mandan High School Awards Ceremony on May 12. The scholarships were awarded based on criteria which was set by the awards committee and/or the individuals businesses that sponsored the scholarship.

“This has been a record-setting year for the Mandan Dollars for Scholars, just another example of the Mandan community coming together to support education,” Lori Furaus, Vice President of the Mandan Dollars for Scholars and Mandan School Board Member, said.

The Mandan Dollars for Scholars is a community scholarship program for graduates of Mandan High School. Their purpose is to provide financial assistance to students from MHS who continue their education after high school.

Costs to attend college and technical schools continue to escalate, placing the dream of advanced education out of reach for many students. However, these scholarships awarded from Mandan Dollars for Scholars help make that dream a reality.
